The latest dream model has been announced by Mercedes-Benz and customers will get the first glimpse of the new Mercedes-Benz 2015 S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe at the upcoming New York International Auto Show. This two door model design combines power and sensual purity to give the vehicle irresistible presence and breathtaking performance. The S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe benefits from the AMG Lightweight Performance strategy, which uses a lightweight lithium-ion battery, optional AMG forged light-alloy wheels and a weight-optimized AMG high-performance composite braking system to reduce the vehicle weight by up to 140 pounds. The amazing engineering feat is that the car has higher output and more extensive standard equipment than the preceding model. The aluminum outer shell and front body end further reduces the weight and improves driving dynamics, which mean savings on fuel consumption and impressive performance thanks to the lower power-to weight ratio.
The AMG 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine boasts 577 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, while delivering remarkably low fuel consumption. The S63 AMG Coupe accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in an estimated 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 186 mph.
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sport transmission combines perfectly with the V8 biturbo engine to provide an individualized driving experience. To customize their driving experience drivers can choose from three modes: “C” (Controlled Efficiency), “S” (Sport) and “M” (Manual). The ECO start/stop function is fitted as standard. The exhaust system is tied to the drivers preferences as well and can emit an Emotional and sporty performance or restrained and relaxing cruising. Automatic exhaust flaps remain closed in “C” (Controlled Efficiency) providing an understated sound from the eight-cylinder biturbo engine. In “S” (Sport) and “M” (Manual) modes, the exhaust flaps open earlier and more spontaneously, yielding an even fuller, hallmark AMG emotive engine sound.
The performance oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive (33/67% split) will come standard on the S63 AMG Coupe for optimum traction in any driving situation. With permanent all-wheel drive, 33 percent of the engine torque is sent to the front axle and 67 percent to the rear axle. The rear-biased power distribution provides high driving dynamics and boosting acceleration from a standing start. Important for passenger safety, the all-wheel drive also enhances driving safety on wet or wintry road surfaces.
